The Netherlands Prime Minister to visit India

New Delhi: The Netherlands Prime Minister, Mark Rutte will visit India on 05 and 06 June 2015. He will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Trade, Ms. Lilianne Ploumen and Minister for Agriculture, Sharon Dijksma along with a trade delegation.

Minister Dijksma accompanied by a delegation of more than 80 Dutch companies and research institutes, headed by the chairman of the Confederation of the Netherlands’ Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW), Hans de Boer will visit India from 4 June, 2015.

The further strengthening of the political and economic ties between India and The Netherlands will be the main focus of the meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. By visiting companies, arranging matchmaking sessions and organizing a networking dinner, new contacts between Indian and Dutch companies will be facilitated and existing relationships deepened.With a primary focus on Delhi and Mumbai, the delegation will spend a day in each city, meeting with relevant ministries and companies.

The Netherlands is India’s fourth largest trading partner within the EU and it belongs to the top five largest investors in India. The trade volume between India and the Netherlands has increased over the last couple of years to almost 6 billion Euros. There are large opportunities for Dutch companies in India, in particular in agriculture and horticulture, water management, life sciences and healthcare, and sports infrastructure.
