iBall launches smartphones with detachable lenses

New Delhi: Taking smartphone camera to a whole new level, iBall on Monday launched its mSLR Cobalt4 smartphone in India priced at Rs 8,499.

The mSLR Cobalt4 comes bundled with four detachable mSLR lenses – a zoom lens with 8x zoom, a fisheye lens with a 175-180 degree viewing angle, a macro lens with 10x magnification and minimum object distance of 10-15mm, and a wide-angle lens with a 130-degree viewing angle.

The dual-SIM dual-standby Cobalt4 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and comes with a 5-inch qHD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Cortex-A7 processor coupled with 1GB RAM. It comes with 8GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).

The mSLR Cobalt4 smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, while there is a secondary 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera also on board with a ‘soft flash’.

On the connectivity front, the handset supports 3G, Wi-Fi with direct functionality, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.0 options, and HotKnot and is powered with a 2000mAh battery.

Commenting on the launch, Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director, iBall said, “We are very excited with our newest launch which revolutionizes and redefines smartphones. With mSLR Cobalt4 the users shall be mesmerized on the Smartphone’s Camera with detachable lenses.”

Coming with free pouch for lenses and cleaning cloth, iBall mSLR Cobalt4 will be available across the country within a few weeks in phased manner.
