JEE (Advance) results out, MP boys bags top three position

New Delhi: The results for admission in India’s premier institution for engineering are out. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2015 have been declared on Wednesday.

A total of 26,456 candidates have cleared the exams. While 124,741 candidates registered for the exams, a total of 117,238 had appeared for both Paper 1 and 2.

Among the qualifiers, 23,407 are boys and only 3,049 girls.

Satvat Jagwani from Satna, Madhya Pradesh, has topped the exam scoring 469 marks out of 504. Janak Agrawal and Mukesh Pareekh, both from Indore, have bagged the second and third position respectively.

Krati Tiwari from Indore has topped the exam among girls. Her all-India rank is AIR 47.

Turaka Bhavan, with an all-India rank of 39, topped among Scheduled Castes candidates, while Harsh Meena (rank 633) topped among ST candidates. Of the top 10 candidates, five were from IIT-Madras zone, two from IIT-Delhi zone and one each from IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Roorkee zones.

Among the regions, Bombay has topped with 6,838 students clearing the exam. Madras region came second with 4,928 students cracking the exam, while Delhi region finished third with 4,511.

IITs are located in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Varanasi, Hyderabad, Ropar, Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Jodhpur, Indore, Mandi and Patna.
