Date:

Nature never fails to surprise us; sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a scary way. But this time, it’s only good news. Amorphophallus Titanum, world largest flower has grown in a Tokyo park, first time in 5 years.

The flower is 6 feet tall. Jindai Botinaical gardens in Chofu, Japan has extended their visiting hours so that visitors can come and see this rare species as it only blooms for two or three days.
It is believed that the smell of the flower can be compared to that of the rotting meat which helps to attract pollinators such as flies and beetles. This plant is native of rainforests in western Sumatara, Indonesia.

It grows 1200 feet above sea level. However, according to International Union for Conversation of Nature, this plant is classified under ‘vulnerable’ species, right above endangered.
