Kabir Khan’s upcoming flick Phantom, which stars Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, has been banned in Pakistan after Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed in his plea, had alleged that the film set on post 26/11 attacks, contains ‘filthy propaganda’ against him and his outfit.
New Delhi: On a plea filed by Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed against the upcoming Bollywood movie ‘ Phantom’, a Pakistani court on Thursday issued ban on the release of the film in the country.
Saeed, in his plea, had alleged that the film set on post 26/11 attacks, contains ‘filthy propaganda’ against him and his outfit.
After hearing the hearing the arguments of Saeed’s counsel and the government law officer, Lahore High Court judge Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan issued the order to ban the release of the Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer film.
The film is supposed to hit the theatres all across the globe on August 28.
“Phantom is anti-terror, not anti-Pakistan”
Condemning Pakistan’s ban on release of Bollywood movie ‘ Phantom,’ Director Kabir Khan said that the move was a bit strange as the movie was “anti-terrorism” and not “anti-Pakistani.”
“I am feeling a bit strange as the film has been banned even before it reached the Censor Board. It is not an anti-Pakistan Movie. This only an anti-terrorism film and is against the masterminds of 26/11 attack,” Kabir told ANI.
