“India not only condemns all acts of terrorism but also joins hands with Egypt in the fight to remove this scourge of terrorism completely,” she added.

Swaraj further said that India and Egypt aspire to ensure security and prosperity of its citizens.

“India and Egypt share aspirations for security and prosperity for our people and for peace and stability in our region,” she said.

She also expressed concern over the growth of terrorism and of sectarian violence in the region, saying that India stands committed to support efforts to fight this.

Swaraj had arrived in Cairo on Sunday for her two-nation trip and was received by India’s Ambassador to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharyya
