Central team to visit flood-hit areas of West Bengal

Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had demanded Rs 23,000 crore as central assistance for post flood reconstruction and rehabilitation work.

New Delhi: A team from the Centre will arrive in Kolkata on Tuesday to assess the post flood situation in West Bengal.

Official sources said, the central team will visit the flood-affected 12 districts of the state from Tuesday.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had demanded Rs 23,000 crore as central assistance for post flood reconstruction and rehabilitation work when she met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi last month.
