Ramnganiang Muivah takes charge as secy of North Eastern Council

Shillong: Senior IAS officer Ramnganing Muivah took charge as secretary of the North Eastern Council.

Muivah, a 1985 batch Manipur cadre officer, had a long innings serving in various capacities both in the central government as well as in the state.

At the Centre, he had served on the Board of Directors of United Bank of India and Indian Bank during 2001 to 2006 before returning to Manipur where he held a number of positions including Principal Secretary Works, Transport, Health & Family Welfare and Agriculture.

An alumni of the Economic Development at the European Institute of Public Administration, Barcelona, Banking Crisis at IMF Institute, Singapore, Financial Industry Information Systems at FISC, Tokyo.

Muivah’s appointment as the NEC secretary is expected to give a fillip to the region’s developmental agenda, a senior NEC official said.
