Russian parliament greenlights Putin’s Syria strike request: aide

The Russian parliament’s upper house on Wednesday gave President Vladimir Putin formal permission to carry out air strikes in Syria, the Kremlin chief of staff said.

“The Federation Council unanimously supported the president’s request,” Sergei Ivanov said in televised remarks. “We are talking about Syria.”
