New Delhi: Manmohan Singh can breathe easy now. A special CBI court on Friday has refused to summon him in the coal block allocation scam, saying he will not be an accused in the case.
Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda had demanded Manmohan be summoned as the additional accused in a coal scam case.
“We will think to appeal in SC against this decision. We will discuss this thing first as it is technical,” Koda told ANI.
Koda had alleged that Manmohan Singh also held the coal portfolio.
Koda, who is one of the 15 accused in the case, had moved an application seeking to summon Manmohan and two others -Anand Swaroop, then Secretary (Energy), and Jai Shankar Tiwari, then Secretary (Mines and Geology)-as additional accused in the case.
