If BJP loses, crackers will go off in Pakistan: Amit Shah

Date:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Thursday said that celebrations will break out in Pakistan if his party loses the Bihar Assembly polls.

“Galti se bhi agar BJP Bihar mein haar gayi toh Jay-paraajay to Bihar mein hogi lekin patakhe Pakistan mein jakar jalenge (If the BJP loses in Bihar even by mistake then crackers will be burnt in Pakistan),” Shah said at a rally here.

“Do you want the return of Jungle Raaj-2? If by any mistake BJP loses, victory and defeat may be in Bihar but fire crackers will go off in Pakistan. Do you want crackers being burst in Pakistan?” he said.

His remarks come against the backdrop of reports that it could be tough going for the saffron alliance in the state contrary to earlier reports that the BJP-led grouping was comfortably placed.

Shah also said if the grand alliance of JD(U), RJD and Congress win, then “gangsters” like Mohammad Shahabuddin, a RJD leader presently lodged in jail, will celebrate.

He also repeated the charge that the grand alliance was plotting to give away a share of quota meant for the backward castes and Dalits to minorities, a reference to Muslims.
