Former PMO official Ashraf likely to be new Envoy to Singapore

Former PMO official Javed Ashraf who recently finished his tenure in the Prime Minister’s office is likely to go as the new Indian Envoy to Singapore.

Ashraf who was also the speech writer for Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a good choice given he is a management graduate and will be able to push Modi’s economic diplomacy.

Ashraf, a 1991 batch IFS officer, was previously posted as the head of the Americas division and is known for out of the box ideas.

He will replace Vijay Thakur Singh who is likely to move into a new slot of an envoy.
