President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari on Tuesday wished the nation on the eve of Diwali.
In his message, President Mukherjee said, “On the joyous occasion of Diwali, I convey warm greetings and good wishes to all my fellow countrymen in India and around the world.”
“Diwali represents the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. May the festival serve as a catalyst for greater unity within our country. Let us on this occasion join forces, share happiness, help the needy and engage in collective efforts to lead our nation to greater and greater glory,” he added.
“May the festival bring joy and prosperity to all sections of our people across the length and breadth of the country. I urge all Indians to celebrate Diwali in a pollution free manner,” said President Mukherjee.
Extending his greetings to the nation Ansari said the festival of lights signifies the victory of good over evil and reaffirms belief in the noble ideals and morals of Lord Rama’s life.
“I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, the festival of lights. Celebrated with traditional fervor and zeal, Deepawali signifies the victory of good over evil and reaffirms our belief in the noble ideals and morals of Lord Rama’s life,” said Ansari.
“May this festival bring peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness in our lives,” he added.
