Crackdown after Paris attacks leads to 1,200 searches, 165 arrests

French police have carried out more than 1,200 searches, arrested 165 people and seized 230 weapons in the security crackdown since the attacks in Paris, Interior Minister Bernard Cazenueve said Tuesday.

He said the arms included “weapons of war” and the number collected “showed the effectiveness of the searches which were carried out to prevent the weapons from harming anyone”, Cazenueve said.
