Kerala Tourism wins Conde Nast Travel Award 2015

Kerala Tourism has won the Favourite Indian Leisure Destination prize at the Conde Nast Travel Awards for this year.

The award was presented to Kerala Tourism, winner of the runner-up prize for the Favourite Indian Leisure Destination, at a ceremony attended by the Who’s Who of Indian travel and tourism industry in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Conde Nast Traveller India Readers Travel Awards, which is in its fifth year, honour the best in travel, tourism and hospitality. The winners were chosen by the readers of Conde Nast Traveller magazine.

“It is an honour to be feted by the discerning travellers who visit our state,” Kerala Tourism Minister A P Anilkumar said.

“It is a proud moment to be recognised as the favourite destination by the people who travel around the world’, a press release quoting the Minister said.

Kerala Tourism Secretary G Kamala Vardhana Rao said the award was significant as it was based on the assessment of different parameters of travel and hospitality by different individuals.

“As a top tourism destination in the world, we would continue to maintain the highest standards of quality and excellence desired by the travellers,” Rao said.

Additional Resident Commissioner, Kerala, Rachna Shah received the award from Shri Vinod Zutshi, Secretary, Union Ministry of Tourism. Among those present on the occasion were Maldives High Commissioner Ahmed Mohamed.
