Reshuffle in Bengal IPS cadre

In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre, five senior officials have been transferred to various positions in West Bengal, Home Department officials said.

IGP Railway N R Babu has been transferred as IGP North Bengal Region, replacing Gyanwant Singh, who has been transferred as IGP, Western Zone.

With this S N Gupta, who was working as IGP, Western Zone, would now take over as Commissioner of Police in Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate.

The IGP, CIF (Counter Insurgency Force) West Bengal, Anil Kumar, has been transferred as Member Secretary West Bengal Police Recruitment Board in the rank of IGP.

Ajay Kumar Nand, who was working as Commissioner of Police in Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate, has been asked to take over as IGP, CIF in the state, the Home Department said.
