SMJSC2015: 48 boys’ teams qualify for knockouts in two sections

Mumbai: Forty-eight boys’ teams qualified for the knockout phase in two different sections on the fourth day of the 7th QPR South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenger 2015 at the Western Railway Sports Complex in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai.

A total of over 1300 boys representing over 140 teams of Municipal Schools were in action in the Under-12 and Under-14 age groups.

All the teams played at least two matches each, totalling up to 144 games which were played on five pitches with each playing hosting almost 30 games throughout the day.

In the Under-12 section, Worli Naka UP Marathi Municipal No. 1, Motishah Lane UP Hindi, Tadwadi UP Municipal Hindi, Parel Bhoiwada UP Marathi No. 1, Sitaram Mill Compound MPS and N.M Joshi Marg School, were few of the 16 teams who qualified for the knockouts.

Meanwhile, in the Under-14 section, Abhyudaynagar UP Municipal Marathi School, NM Joshi Municipal Secondary ‘B’, K.K. Marg Municipal UP Hindi No. 1 ‘A’, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar English ‘A’ and Love Grove Pumping Marathi School, were a few among 32 teams to qualify for the knockouts.
