Jet Airways bus hit parked Air India plane at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: A major accident was averted when a Jet Airways shuttle bus on Tuesday rammed into a stationary Air India flight at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. However, no casualty or injury was reported, an official said.

The incident happened at bay number 32 of Kolkata airport when the driver lost control of the bus and rammed it into the parked aircraft damaging one of its engines.

The authorities of both Air India and Jet Airways rushed to the spot. The driver of the bus is now being questioned.

“A probe has been ordered to be conducted by regional safety manager, Directorate General of Civil Aviation,” Kolkata Airport director AK Sharma said.

There were no reports of any injury or casualty, added Sharma.
