Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs will protest before Gandhi statue in parliament premises tomorrow at 10 AM against the remarks of Arun Jaitely on special category status to Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha.
The uproar started after Arun Jaitley’s address to Rajya Sabha on Friday, he said that instead of giving a special constitutional entitlement to Andhra Pradesh, the government would “handhold” it till the time AP gets economic stability. During his address to Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley claimed that “we have done a lot to Andhra Pradesh” so far. Jaitley’s remark disheartened the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu.
Responding to the tough questions from the opposition over the implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, the government noted on Friday that it would not grant special status to the State.
