The new Hyundai Elantra to be launched in India this August

Hyundai India is all set to launch Next-Gen Elantra in the country on 23rd of this month. The sedan was being tested in India for several weeks and some dealers have reportedly started taking bookings for the car already.

The sixth generation of Elantra has dropped the fluidic design and have got some executive sedan type of looks instead. With huge hexagonal black front grille, projector headlamps and verticle LED Daytime Running Lamps, the New Elantra looks more classy than ever but loses it’s sporty appeal. Inside, it comes with premium and feature-rich interiors and advanced infotainment system including a 7-inch touchscreen with GPS navigation and Apple CarPlay.

The India spec Elantra is most likely to be offered with 2.0-litre MPI and 1.6-litre VGT  engine producing 147 bhp/183 Nm and 134 bhp/306 Nm respectively and will be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.

In Indian market, the new Elantra will be put against Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Cruze and Skoda Octavia. Expect the prices to start somewhere around ₹16 lakh going up to ₹20 lakh for the top spec model.
