50 pc subsidy for pvt companies investing in sports in U’khand

Dehradun, Aug 17 (PTI) Up to 50 per cent subsidy would begiven to private companies investing in sports-relatedinfrastructure in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Harish Rawatsaid here today, in a bid to attract more investment in thesports sector. Making the announcement, Rawat said his government wasmaking all-out efforts for promotion of sports in the state. "Private companies willing to invest on the sportsinfrastructure sector in the state will get subsidy up to 50per cent," said Rawat. "The state government will play the role of a facilitatorin promotion of sports, be it through creation of world classinfrastructure for sports in the state or giving financial incentives to promising sportspersons," he added. Rawat said his government was awarding financial as wellas other incentives to promising sportspersons. "Under a new sports policy,heavy incentives are beinggiven to promising sportspersons who prove their mettle at thenational and international level, like direct appointment togovernment jobs," he said.
