HP Guv, CM greet people on eve of Raksha Bandhan

Shimla, Aug 17 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Governor AcharyaDevvrat, chief minister Virbhadra Singh, former chief ministerP K Dhumal and several other leaders have greeted people onthe eve of ‘Raksha Bandhan’. Acharya Devvrat expressed hope that Raksha Bandhan wouldnot only strengthen the bonds of brotherhood but also play asignificant role in creating a cordial atmosphere in thesociety. Virbhadra Singh said the festival was celebrated tostrengthen the bonds of love and affection in our family andsociety. He said this occasion was an opportunity to promotepeace, harmony and brotherhood in the state and the country. In his greetings on the occasion, former chief minister PK Dhumal said that Rakhi was a bond which never breaks andsame spirit should be spread to strengthen the nation. The government has declared holiday for women employeestomorrow while Transport minister G S Bali has declared thatwomen would be given free travelling facility on ordinary HRTCbuses tomorrow.
