Kolkata, Aug 17 (PTI) West Bengal Chief Minister MamataBanerjee today congratulated Indian shuttler P V Sindhufor defeating world number two Wang Yihan of China in the RioOlympics to enter the women’s singles semifinals. "PV Sindhu well done. All of us are following you atRio 2016 with pride. Keep winning. Keep winning India,"Banerjee tweeted. Now the two-time World Championship bronze medallistSindhu stood just a win away from assuring India an elusivemedal. Sindhu will face World Number-3 Nozomi Okuhara ofJapan in the last-four stage. World number 10 Sindhu, who has a 1-3 win-loss recordagainst Nozomi, has never beaten the Japanese since AsianYouth Under-19 Championship in 2012 and has lost on threeconsecutive occasions in 2014, 2015 and the last being AsianTeam Championship in Hyderabad earlier in February this year.PTI AKB MDUZM
