Bangladeshi tourists over 65-yrs will get 5-yr Indian visa

New Delhi, Aug 19 (PTI) India has decided to increase theduration of tourist visa for Bangladeshi tourists over65-years of age to five years from the present one year, inorder to enhance bi-lateral relations with the neighbouringcountry. A Home Ministry statement issued in this regard saidwhile the duration of the visa has been enhanced from one yearto five years it will have multiple entry facility forBangladeshi tourists falling in this age bracket. "The decision has been taken in pursuance of governmentÂ’sstated policy for easing of visa norms for promotion oftourism. Indian Missions in Bangladesh will henceforth extendthis facility to the Bangladeshi applicants. "This initiative of the government will furtherstrengthen the bilateral relationship between India andBangladesh and intensify people to people contact. The longpending issue has thus been resolved to the satisfaction ofall stakeholders," the statement said. PTI NESRG
