Bids invited for Dasturi Naka-Matheran beautification project

Mumbai, Aug 19 (PTI) The Mumbai Metropolitan RegionDevelopment Authority (MMRDA) has invited bids to beautify the5.7-km walkway between Dasturi Naka and Matheran inneighbouring Raigad district. "MMRDA has invited e-tenders to improve the 5.7-km longpathway from Dasturi Naka to Matheran using all eco-friendlyguidelines suggested by the Matheran Monitoring Committee inconsultation with the Matheran Municipal Council," MMRDA saidin a statement here today. The project is expected to be completed in two years at anestimated cost of Rs 46.41 crore. The Matheran Monitoring Committee recommended thebeautification of the pathway and laying of paver blocks. Thewalkway, which will be constructed from clay, will connectpeople travelling from Dasturi directly to Matheran’s marketarea, it said. As per the release, the beautification of the Matheranwalkway includes installing clay paver blocks and new signagein the popular eco-sensitive hill station. PTI PSK NRB JMABMJMF
