Goa police did not have enough manpower and equipment foran event of such a magnitude, and therefore they had requestedthe Union Ministry of Home Affairs for support, he said. "We will borrow bullet-proof vehicles and jackets, snipers, and door-frame and hand-held metal detectors. Ninecompanies of para-military forces will also be a part of theentire security apparatus," the SP said. Goa Government has requested the Defence Ministry toallow private aircraft of the visiting heads of BRICS nationsto be parked at INS Hansa, the naval base near Dabolim airportin the state. "Since private aircraft would be parked at INS Hansa andVVIPs would be brought to the venue from the naval base, itwould not cause inconvenience to the regular fliers using theDabolim airport," George said.
