Hyderabad, Aug 19 (PTI) Telangana CID probing theEAMCET-II question paper leak today arrested one more broker,taking the total number of arrests in connection with the caseto 15. The accused broker, identified as Ashwani Kumar Tomar(37), director of Aakruti Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd atRajendra Place in New Delhi, was working as an educationalconsultant in the national capital, the CID said. "He secured two students and they were given practicewith two sets of leaked TS EAMCET-II-2016 (Medical) entranceexam question papers in the camp conducted at Bengaluru", CIDsaid in a statement. Efforts are going on to apprehend the other brokersand accused persons of the question paper leakage, it added. On July 25, the CID had registered a case underrelevant sections of IPC and other provisions of the AndhraPradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices andUnfair means) Act, 1997, after it found in its preliminaryinquiry that there was prima facie a case for registering anFIR. Investigation also revealed that students appearingfor TS EAMCET-II-2016 (Medical) examination from Telangana andAndhra Pradesh were taken to camps set up in at least fivecities about two to three days prior to the exam and weregiven practice with the leaked copies of two question papersconsisting of 320 questions with correct answers, CID hadearlier said. At a review meeting held here on August 2, Chief MinisterK Chandrasekhar Rao was informed by CID officials that Delhiturned out to be the centre for leak and there were 34brokers, who conspired to sell the paper and as many as 200parents were in touch with the brokers to buy the questionpapers. The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical CommonEntrance Test (EAMCET-II) was conducted on July 9 and theresults were declared on July 14. The exam was conducted byJawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. In the wake of question paper leakage, TelanganaGovernment on August 2 announced the cancellation ofthe EAMCET-II and III exams will be held on September 11. PTIRS NPAJRJMF
