Draft notification on new districts on Aug 22: T’gana CM

Hyderabad, Aug 20 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister KChandrasekhar Rao (KCR) today said a draft notification onformation of new districts will be issued on August 22. KCR, who chaired a state Cabinet meeting at theSecretariat here, told reporters that the draft notificationwill be issued on August 22 on the proposed new districts andsuggestions from public will also be taken, who can submitthem at the offices of district collectorate. The Chief Minister, who had this afternoon convened anall-party meeting on district reorganisation, said all partieswelcomed decision on forming new districts and some partiesgave suggestions. "We will provide comprehensive information on theproposed new districts and mandals (in the draftnotification)," Rao said adding if required, another all-partymeeting will be held before a final notification is issued onformation of new districts. He reminded that his party the Telangana Rashtra Samithihad promised creation of new districts in its (election)manifesto. "New districts will come into existence from Dasara. Ifrequired changes will be made in the draft notification basedon the objections and suggestions of the public," Rao added. The next session of state Legislature will begin fromfirst week of September, he said. Telangana government is maintaining cordial relationswith its neighbouring states and will very soon signagreements with Maharashtra on water sharing, said the ChiefMinister. PTI VVK NRBIKAJMF
