Woman robbed of valuables, cash in auto

Kolkata, Aug 22 (PTI) A woman was allegedly robbed ofvaluables and cash including her voter identity and PAN cardsby unknown miscreants while travelling in an autorickshaw fromPark Circus area of the city, police said today. The incident happened last night at around 10 PM whenHowrah-resident Sudipta Banerjee (30) was travelling in anautorickshaw from Park Circus to Girish Park’s DwarkanthTagore Lane, police said. "The woman hired the autorickshaw for GirishPark at around 9.30PM yesterday. She alleged that at one pointthe driver of the autorickshaw requested her to allow threemore passengers who will get down within a short distance. Andwhen the woman got down at her destination she found that hervaluables were missing," a senior officer said. The woman in her complaint lodged at the GirishPark Police Station alleged that she has been "robbed" ofher gold neck chain fitted with pendant weighing about 10 gmsand Rs 5,500 in cash, one mobile phone and one bagful ofgarments, pan card, voter identity card and two ATM cards. "We are looking into the CCTV footages on the roadsand trying to establish what had actually happened and probingthe matter," the officer said. PTI SCH SUSSUS
