New Delhi, Aug 24 (PTI) Heavy rains lashed the nationalcapital today bringing down the mercury to two notches belownormal even as humidity levels shot up. "The maximum temperature was recorded at 31.8 degreesCelsius, two notches below normal while the minimumtemperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius, a notch belownormal," a MeT official said. The Safdarjung observatory recorded 5.6 mm rainfall whilethe reading at Palam observatory was 10.1 mm. Humidity levelsoscillated between 87 an 64 per cent. Weatherman has predicted a cloudy morning tomorrow withpossibility of rains in few areas towards the afternoon. "The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected tohover around 35 and 26 per cent," the official added. Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures wererecorded at 33.7 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsiusrespectively. PTI GJSRG
