Saiyami Kher to turn Payal Singhal’s showstopper

Mumbai, August 24 (PTI) Newcomer Saiyami Kher will walkthe ramp for celebrity favourite designers Payal Singhal at theongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 collection. Titled "Pakizah", the collection is an ode to Indiandesigns with contemporary twist. Saiyami is set to make her Bollywood debut with directorRakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s "Mirziya". The film also marks thebig screen debut of actor Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan. Talking about her latest collection, Payal said hercollection focuses on clean and minimalistic cuts in fabricslike silk, raw silk. "Islamic art and architecture has always had a lastingimpact on my work but I have forgone an ornate approach infavour of one that highlights the purity of good old design.The focus is on bringing out the timeless quality ofsimplicity," Payal said.
