WASH Guwahati, Aug 24 (PTI) There was an urgent need toadopt sustainable strategies for access to Water, Sanitationand Hygiene (WASH) agenda at the regional, state and citylevel, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)’s SeniorDirector Dr Annapurna Vancheswaran said here today. "Institutional arrangements should be adopted toimplement sustainable WASH strategies and a PPP model could behelpful to achieve the same," she said at a Regional Dialogueon ‘Localising the Post-2015 Development Agenda- Water andSanitation for All’ here. As the water stress continuous to increase, it isimperative to realise that the solution cannot be provided byworking in isolation but by forming an alliance ofstakeholders to solve the larger issues associated with theWASH sector, she said. ”In a globalizing world, an increasing number ofdecisions are being made at the global level, which impact theless privileged. Hence, the aim of our Regional Dialogues isto localize the Post-2015 Development Agenda at the regional,state, and city level”, Vancheswaran said. Two such Dialogues were held in Mumbai and Bengaluruearlier this month, focusing on urbanisation.
