1 dead, 30 feared missing as boat capsizes in B’desh

From Anisur Rahman Dhaka, Aug 25 (PTI) At least one person was killed and 30others, including 15 children, went missing today after a boatcarrying mostly Hindu devotees capsized in a river insouthwestern Bangladesh. "One person was killed and 30 others, including 15children, went missing as the boat capsized in the Kumarriver," the Samoy TV channel reported. Madaripur Police chief confirmed the incident but did notgive the details, saying "our officials are on their way tothe accident scene". The boat was carrying more than 100 people and it capsizedafter a head-on collision with a vessel in the river, aneyewitness was quoted as saying. The engine-run boat was carrying mostly Hindu devotees whowere returning home after Janmastami celebrations at a nearbyarea. Several passengers were rescued by other boats. PTI ARSUA ZHSUA
