Unacademy raises $1M funding

The education based startup Unacademy recently announced that it has raised over 1 million dollars in additional funding. he new investment round was led by Blume Ventures, along with Stanford Angels India, WaterBridge Ventures, Sachin Bansal, Binny Bansal, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Kunal Shah, Sandeep Tandon, Ashish Tulsian and Tracxn Labs.

The owners of the startup suggest that the newly acquired money will be used as funds to improve technology, and fund more research and development. The firm also wishes to expand and so the money will also be used to hire more work power.

Unacademy claims to be India’s largest free online learning platform. It allows educators to create courses using Unacademy’s app on various subjects, including exclusive content for various competitive exams.

The startup’s vision is to get the best minds of the country share their knowledge in an easily comprehensible form. In terms of traction, Unacademy estimates that it attracts more than one million video views monthly now, with their growth so far being mostly organic.
