Yug starved, tourtured before murder: CID team

Shimla, Aug 25 (PTI) Four-year-old Yug, whose skeletalremains were recovered earlier this week from a municipalwater tank after being kidnapped two years ago, was subjectedto inhuman torture for seven days before he was murdered incold blood, a CID team investigating the case said today. A CID (Crime Branch) team conducting the investigationrevealed that the accused Chander, Tajender and Vikrant, whoare on five days police remand, "starved the boy, kept hishands tied and physically tortured him." The CID team recovered a mobile phone from one of theaccused and found that some clips had been had been deleted.The clips, later restored by forensic experts showed a littleboy whose hands were tied and mouth gagged. The accused had allegedly dumped the boy in the water tankafter tying him with a stone in semi-conscious condition andthe skeleton was taken out eight months ago when the MunicipalCorporation staff was cleaning the tank in the wake ofjaundice outbreak. The municipal workers did not inform the police about theskeleton but the accused reportedly told the investigatorsabout dumping the body in water tank in posh Kelston area. The CID team today took the accused to all the spots, thetransport used, place where he was held captive and the watertank to verify the information extracted during interrogation.PTI PCL MNG SKMNG
