No dengue deaths in WB since yesterday

Kolkata, Aug 27 (PTI) No dengue deaths were reported fromany district of West Bengal in the past 24 hours even as thetoll stands at 23. As the health department was still "validating" reports ofnew dengue cases, it has not issued any number of peopleinfected by the vector-borne disease, West Bengal Director ofHealth Services Biswaranjan Satpathy told PTI. "There are no reports of any dengue death in the last 24hours and the death toll remained at 23. We are unable toissue the number of new dengue cases because the validatingprocess is still on," Satpathy said. Till Thursday, 5,639 people were infected by dengue inWest Bengal since January. Most of the dengue cases have been reported from districtslike Howrah, Hooghly’s Serampore municipal area, North 24Parganas’ South Dum Dum area and South 24 Parganas while a fewisolated cases were reported from Darjeeling, Coochbehar andnorth Dinajpur districts.
