Jammu, Aug 29 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimedto have busted three inter-state drug rackets and arrested 10persons and seized over 18 kg of cannabis and intoxicants fromtheir possession here. "Under operation Sanjeevani, a special drive against drugswas launched by district police in Jammu. A major success wasachieved by busting three inter-state drug rackets in a singlenight and 10 persons were arrested and 18.5 kgs of cannabisand intoxicants seized," SSP Jammu Suni Gupta told reportershere today. He said on the intervening night of August 28-29, a policeparty, deployed outside Shiv Temple at Trikuta Nagar,intercepted three vehicles and when they were asked to gettheir vehicles searched they tried to flee away. Finding something suspicious, the police party nabbed all the five personsand seized 15 Kgs of charas from them", he said. They were identified as Suraj Parkash, Altaf Ahmed, GhulamMohd Bhat, Mohd Amin and Mohd Sultan of Kashmir valley. In the second incidence, police, during a patrolling onnational highway near Bambyal Morh, intercepted a Maruti carand found three persons in suspicious circumstances and whilesearching the vehicle, seven packets of charas, weighingapproximately 3.5 kg, were recovered from their possession,Gupta said. They have been identified as Bharat Bhushan of Jammu, AqibAhmed Mir and Ghulam Nabi Bhat of South Kahsmir. In the third incident, the police party intercepted atruck and during a thorough search 1150 corex bottles wererecovered and two persons, identified as Sanjay Sharma and RajKumar Sharma, have been arrested, he said.
