leaked scorpene data New Delhi, Aug 29 (PTI) An Australian Court today grantedtemporary injunction against further publication of leakedScorpene submarine data by ‘The Australian’ newspaper on anapplication moved by French defence firm DCNS that has beenrocked by the document leak scandal. The newspaper, which said the temporary injunction wasgranted by the court, had earlier said that it will publishthe documents regarding the weapons system of the submarine onMonday but had not done so. "DCNS, through the application filed, has demanded TheAustralian to remove the documents which it has published onits website and prevent further publishing of otherdocuments," the company’s headquarters in Paris said in astatement earlier in the day. The firm’s lawyer had yesterday told the newspaper thatthe publication of this "highly valuable document" causes adirect harm to DCNS and its customer in terms of spread ofsensitive and restricted information, image and reputation. Over 22,000 pages of top secret data on the capabilitiesof six highly advanced submarines being built for the IndianNavy in Mumbai in collaboration with the French company, havebeen leaked. The French public prosecutor has opened a preliminaryinvestigation into the data leak, with DCNS filing a complaintof breach of trust. PTI SAP GSNGSN
