Tourism Ministers of BRICS nations to meet in Khajuraho

Bhopal, Aug 29 (PTI) Tourism Ministers of BRICS countrieswill meet at the world famous temple city Khajuraho for atwo-day long conference from September 1. Besides India, the Tourism Ministers of Brazil, Russia,China and South Africa will take part in the conference todeliberate on issues related to tourism, an official releasesaid today. On the first day of the meet a presentation will be madeon the Indian Tourism Ministry’s ‘Atulya Bharat’ campaign byMadhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar. Later, BRICS nation’s representatives and IndianAssociation of Tour Operators (IATO) delegation will make apresentation, it said. On the second day, Indian Travel and Trade and itsassociated institutes will have a meeting with the BRICSrepresentatives. Group discussions will also be held on theInter-Regional Tourism Promotion. Besides a session on implementing technology andinnovation in tourism sector will also be held. Various cultural programmes including light and sound showwill also be organised for the participants during the event. Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture MaheshSharma, Madhya Pradesh’s Minister of State (IndependentCharge) for Tourism, Surendra Patwa, MP Tourism DevelopmentCorporation (MPTDC) Chairman Tapan Bhowmik, Union TourismSecretary Vinod Zutshi and MP Tourism Secretary Hariranjan Raoamong others will take part in the conference, the releasesaid.
