Police officer dies under suspicious circumstances

Hyderabad, Aug 30 (PTI) A 27-year-old sub-inspector todaydied of bullet injuries at Kerameri police station premisesunder suspicious circumstances in Telangana’s Adilabaddistrict, police said. K Sridhar, suffered head injuries allegedly after hisservice weapon went off accidentally, at around 9.30 AM at thepolice station premises, a senior police officer said, addinghe was rushed to a hospital in Asifabad where he succumbed tohis injuries. However, it is still not clear whether it was due tomisfire or he resorted to suicide, the police officer said,adding they were awaiting postmortem report. Sridhar, a native of Sircilla mandal of Karimnagardistrict had joined as a SI with Kerameri Police Station justtwo-days ago after serving as a trainee for the past fewmonths. Further probe is on.
