Health Minister Anil Vij to another question raised in the Health Minister Anil Vij to another question raised in theAssembly said there is prohibition on manufacture, storage,distribution or sale of tobacco in the state. He said Food and Drugs Administration had passed an orderon September 3, 2015, regarding prohibition on manufacture,storage, distribution or sale of tobacco which is eitherflavoured, scented or mixed with any additives and whethergoing by name or form of gutka, pan masala, flavoured/scentedtobacco kharra or otherwise by whatsoever name it may becalled. Vij said according to the reports of implementation oftobacco laws between January 2009 and July 2016 receivedfrom civil surgeons, 6,636 public places were raided, 2,778public services vehicles were raided, and 19,889 persons werechallaned at public places during this period. Besides, 11,147 vendors were fined and Rs 22,60,950 werecollected as fine, he added. Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma informed theHouse in response to a question that 2,829 posts of classes’III and IV have been sanctioned in government colleges, NCCand libraries in the state, of which 1,305 posts have beenfilled up and 1,524 posts are lying vacant. Besides, there were 4,209 posts of principal and assistantprofessor, of which 2,379 have been filled up and 1,828 postsare lying vacant, he said. PTI SUN AQS RGAQS
