Youth drowns in Yamuna River

Nahan, August 31 (PTI) A youth drowned in Yamuna River atPaonta Sahib this evening while taking a bath, police said. Banti (27), son of Babu Ram and a resident of YamunaNagar, went to Gobind Ghat alongwith his friends aftervisiting the Paonta Sahib Gurdwara. He was swept by strongcurrents while paying obeisance to Paonta Sahib, police said. His friend Jagir informed Paonta police that they hadcome from Yamuna Nagar. Paonta Sahib DSP Bhishm Thakur said after receivinginformation, police immediately pressed local divers intoservice to trace the drowned youth. The body is yet to be receovered, he said.
