RBI Governor-designate Urjit Patel meets Jaitley

Mumbai, Sep 1 (PTI) Finance Minister Arun Jaitley todayheld a closed-door meeting with Reserve BankGovernor-designate Urjit Patel. The meeting was held immediately after an interactivesession on income declaration and gold monetisation schemes,which was jointly organised by industry chamber Ficci andauditors body ICAI. Apart from Patel, who will take charge from outgoing RBIGovernor Raghuram Rajan on September 6, the meeting wasattended by CBDT Chairperson Rani Singh-Nair and PrincipalChief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, D S Saksena. The minister is learnt to have reviewed the twoGovernment-run schemes and clarified certain queries aboutthem. The RBI is involved in implementation of the goldmonetisation scheme.
