ILP cell opened in Mizo-Assam border town

Aizawl, Sep 3 (PTI) An Inner Line Permit (ILP) Cell,housed in a building of the border Police Check post inMizoram-Assam border Vairengte town, was inaugurated byKolasib District Deputy Commissioner H. Lalengmawia, anofficial statement today said. The statement said Lalengmawia inaugurated the ILPCell yesterday to facilitate on the spot issuance of ILP tothe people from outside the state entering Mizoram. The Cell was set up as an extension of the office ofthe Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) of Vairengte in which asignboard written in English, Hindi and Bengali wasprominently displayed. Temporary ILP would be issued in the Cell which couldbe made permanent in the DC’s office. The Cell is equippedwith facilities to take passport photographs of ILPapplicants. People from outside the state required ILP to enterMizoram as per provisions of the Bengal Eastern FrontierRegulation, 1873 and the regulation has been in force intribal-dominated states in the north east.
