2 killed, 4 injured in explosion

Hoshiarpur, Sep 4 (PTI) Two scrap collectors, including awoman, were today killed on the spot and four others sustainedinjuries in an explosion in a shanty at Shastri Nagar here,police said. The explosion apparently occurred when the victims weretrying to remove brass from exploded grenades, police said. The bodies of the deceased, identified as Mamo (60), wifeof Faqiria of Shastri Nagar, and Mohan Lal (20), son of KalliRam of Mohalla Kamalpur, were blown into pieces, they added. The injured were admitted to the local Civil Hospital,police said. Hoshiarpur SP Kulwant Singh, who reached the spotimmediately after the incident, said the exact cause of theexplosion was yet to be ascertained.
