Man throws acid on wife

Phulbani (Odisha), Sep 6 (PTI) A woman sustained burninjuries after she was attacked with acid by her husband forallegedly having an extra marital affair in Odisha’s Kandhamaldistrict, police said today. The man attacked his wife during an exchange of wordsbetween them at their house in Dimirigada village last nightover her alleged extra marital affair and the woman sustainedburn injuries in the lower parts of her body, police said. The victim was immediately admitted to the nearby publichealth centre at Phiringia and later shifted to the districthospital at Phulbani where her condition was stated to bestable. Police today arrested the man who had gone into hidingand was interrogated. Phulbani deputy superintendent of police Arjun Barik saidpolice have registered a case against the husband undersection 307 (attempt to murder). A minor girl faced an acid attack in Ganjam district inthe state just four days ago. PTI COR AAM KKMRJ
