1-yr-old girl raped by youth in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sep 7 (PTI) In a shocking incident, aone-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth who workedwith her parents at their house in Chilkalguda area here,police said. The accused, Deepu Singh (20), took the baby girl fromthe second floor of the house where she was sleeping with herparents, to the ground floor and allegedly raped her at aroundmidnight last night, Chilkalguda Police Station Inspector KSrinivasulu said based on a complaint lodged by her parents. "Deepu Singh took the baby girl from her parents whowere in deep sleep and allegedly committed rape," Srinivasulutold PTI. The accused was arrested today after a case wasregistered against him on charge of rape under relevantsections of IPC and provisions of Protection of Children fromSexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act, based on the complaint. The girl has been shifted to a government hospital hereand is undergoing treatment, the police officer said. The parents of the girl are street vendors. The accusedwas working with them at their house and assisted in makingsnacks. Further investigations are on into the offence, policeadded. PTI VVK GKDV
