Bengaluru Corporates take cover for September 9

Over the issue of Supreme Court’s order to release water to Tamil Nadu, a number of pro-Kannada and farmer organizations have called for a Karnataka Bandh on 9 September.  Pro-Kannada groups under the banner Kannada Okkuta on Tuesday called for a state- wide Bandh after the after the Supreme Court asked the state to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

Shut down will surely affect the government buses service, auto rickshaws and auto services in Karnataka. Shops, shopping malls, and theaters are also expected to be shut.

In the response to state-wide Bandh a majority of the companies in Bangalore and Mysore have decided to use various measures, some of them are thinking about work from home option while others planning to give an off to their employees on 9 September and work on another day. To bypass the bandh corporate have deliberating bring in the critical staff before 6 AM and release them after 6 PM while normal staff works on another day.
