Woman poisons her two kids, commits suicide

Warangal (T’gana), Sep 10 (PTI) A woman allegedlycommitted suicide after poisoning her two minor children attheir residence here today, police said. The victims were identified as Anugoju Uma (33) andher two children Kaushik (10) and Vinmaya (8). Police found a suicide note at the spot, in which Umasaid that she decided to end her life due to severe harassmentby her in-laws and her husband Shoban Babu. "Since the door of the victims’ house did not openeven after 10 am, the neighbours knocked on the door. However,finding it locked from inside, the neighbours broke the windowopen and found the woman and her children dead," Circleinspector of Subedari Police Station Satish, said. "Three months back, Uma and her husband had shifted toNew Millenium Bank Colony in Hanamkonda of Warangal district.While Uma used to do tailoring work, her jobless husband usedto demand money from her for drinking. They had frequentfights. Couple of days back, Shoban Babu beat up his wife Umaand children and left the house," the officer said. Police said fed up with the harassment, Uma poisonedher children and consumed it herself. The bodies were laterhanded over to her family members. A case has been registered and investigation is on.PTI CORNP
