Bhopal, Sep 12 (PTI) Widening work will be carried out atHarsi canal in Dabra-Bhitarwar area of Gwalior division aspart of expansion of Madhya Pradesh’s irrigation capacity. State Water Resources Minister Dr Narottam Mishragave instructions to officials in this regard yesterday afterthe inspection of Harsi-Sindh project, Harsi dam and its canalsystems in Gwalior division, an official said today. The strengthening and widening works of Harsi canalsystem for capacity expansion will be carried out after Rabiseason by the water resources department, the minister said,adding there will be no dearth of funds for the project. He also directed to provide sufficient water to farmersfrom the dams built on Parvati and Sindh rivers. Mishra instructed the officials to provide sufficientwater to Mohangarh, Kerua and Sankhni villages from Doab canalin Bhitarwar region. Following earlier instructions of the minister, 1,330cusecs water is being supplied everyday to 40,000 hec crops inHarsi command area since July 24, the official said.
